This was the question 1Tina asked me. My response was a jump rope. My thinking was “just a jump rope”, but Tina was so excited. It looked like rain so I told her we should hope for the rain to hold off so we could jump rope after the English lesson. She responded by asking God to keep it from raining. God heard her simple prayer. After the lesson Elvira and I gathered the girls and we went outside to jump rope. I was amazed at how much joy a simple jump rope could bring these young girls and young women.
At the 2Vatra Center for women that have been 3trafficked is a little 6 year old girl, *Gerta. Gerta is very quiet and doesn’t speak much when we go to visit, but her face speaks volumes. One week we took a coloring book and crayons for her so she could color during our English lesson with the older girls. When we gave her the coloring book and crayons Gerta’s face lit up with a big smile. She didn’t even open the book or crayons, but sat there with a huge smile on her face as she held onto them. Later we gave her a teddy bear. Gerta was so excited that she ran out of the room. A few minutes later she returned and timidly told us thank you.
